About Me
Duanmin Peng has experience teaching music to students of a wide range of ages and skill levels. As a piano teacher, she tailors her teaching to every student’s individual needs, while establishing a solid and healthy foundation in technique and music theory. Duanmin strives to create a positive, supportive, and fun learning environment for her students where they can progress and find great satisfaction and enjoyment in the pursuit of furthering musical abilities through piano study. She believes that learning music is a life-long journey and a way to explore the world and ourselves.
Duanmin received a Master of Music degree in piano performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) where she studies under Dr. Annie Jeng and minored in collaborative piano under Dr. James Douglass. Prior to coming to the US, Duanmin received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at Xiamen University, China. She has also spent time studying at the Fu Jen Catholic University where she studied under Dr. Shu-wen Sun and National University of Tainan, Taiwan, where she became interested in piano pedagogy, as well as the Central Conservatory of Music in China. Duanmin has years of experience as a piano accompanist and frequently participated in orchestras, bands, and chamber music. She has performed at numerous recitals and accompanied at colleges both in China and in the US. Duanmin has participated in many international music festivals and master classes with pianists such as Dr. Stijn De Cock, Lydia Artymiw, Dr. Cahill Smith, and Dr. Mei-Ting Sun.
